KWPN-NA 2016 Report from the Road

Newnan, GA…

August 29, 2016
Blalock Lakes
Host: Jos and Laura Sevriens
Jury: Bart Henstra , Arie Hamoen

At the well equipped keuring at Blalock Lakes, our friendly hosts Jos and Laura Sevriens organized this crowded event.

Impressively, this keuring added 4 new Elite mares to the studbook.

Two jumper mares were presented in the IBOP and they were both successful. The 7 year old Ellie Ster (Zacharov x Zenobia-R by Manhattan; Owner: Lisa Smith, Breeder: Andrew Wally & Cotton Abbotts) impressed the judges with her jumping technique. She has a quick and bending front leg on the jump and shows good bascule and opening in the haunches. Because Ellie passed her genetics screening with the OC test (Radiographs), she earned her Elite predicate today.

Ellie was also awarded the ribbon for high score adult jumper horse.

Additionally, Ellie’s yearling named Kensington (Ultime Espoir x Ellie by Zacharov; O/B: Lisa Smith) was the high score young jumper at today’s keuring. This well developed colt has a modern jumper type and is well proportioned. He shows a supple, light footed trot and sufficient balance in his canter.

The other jumper mare in the IBOP today is called Cuhr Ster PROK(Up to Date x Nuhr by Libero H; Owner: Muny Sunk Stables, Breeder: J. Van Kooten BV & R Tewis). Cuhr also earned her Elite predicate today. This long lined mare is quick in her take off and her showed quick reflexes. She is athletic in her scope, but could open more in her haunches.

We also had two Dressage mares succeed in the IBOP and get their Elite status.

Genevieve HF Ster PROK(Winningmood x Bonbini Elite by Oscar; Owner/ Breeder: Haralson Farm) scored a 76 and showed good posture and balance. She improved in the second part of the IBOP. Genevieve is very correct and workable in all her gaits. Genevieve earned the high score ribbon for best adult Dressage horse.

Harriet HF Ster PROK(Uphill x Deodora HF Ster PROK by Jazz; O/B: Haralson Farm) is an elegant, light footed mare. Her walk is active and has good length of stride. This inexperienced mare showed sufficient power and reach in trot and canter.

High score young Dressage horse was earned by the elegant Luna (UB40 x Winclair Ster by Sir Sinclair; O/B: Terry Long). Luna is sufficiently developed and refined. She trotted with expression and good articulation of her joints. Her canter was also light footed.

Lucy Liu HF (Ampere x Deodora HF Ster PROK by Jazz; O/B: Haralson Farm) was placed second among the Dressage foals. This well muscled foal showed powerful uphill movement with sufficient use of her body.

**These remarks are for a snapshot in the lifetime of a horse.
Not all first premium or ster horses are mentioned in “The Report from the Road”; only those horses that really stand out to the jury.**
