Avoiding that burnout we know all too well

Let me start this with an extreme example of how to achieve the ideal work-life balance.

You have a home office setup, and a private space in a separate room. You come into this room, you work, you leave this room. Sounds easy right?

The trouble a lot of people have is switching off.

Well, a colleague of mine solved this problem.

Everything literally switches off.

With the help of some smart home controls and some easy-to-set-up automation, the choice of when to stop working is taken away. When 6 pm hits, power to that home office is cut off. Everything shuts off, that’s it, work day is over, go live your life.

I think this is a stroke of genius.

When you are in work mode it can be very difficult to stop. Giving yourself no choice in the matter sounds like the perfect way to make sure you are separating work-life from your actual life.

These are some of the lengths people can go to for a healthier work week and in my opinion, we all need to start thinking like this.

Work-life balance
