Either they have the wrong kind of jaws (there are many kinds, mostly wrong), or they haven’t been around your house long enough to evolve that instinct. How many million years old is the property?

If you’re really interested in what ants do with their food, don’t be. It’s revolting. [Thinks: my beehive should be here soon, and then the bees. Bees are not like ants. Not in the slightest. What they do is not revolting]
