“Yes, dear,” said Lord Foolish, “that was rather my point.”
“Patronising clown,” thought Lady O. “Has he even noticed his own spelling mistake?”
Lord Foolish studied the elegant enigma in front of him, then looked again at what he had done. His eyes widened, his jaw dropped, and he fell to the ground in quivering abjection.
Lady O smiled politely behind her hand.
