Chapter 2 Trading journal #57– 03/29/2019 -$20 “Lost focus into the close. Completely. Learned a good lesson on SEEL though”
Lost emotional control. Was reacting instead of being Proactive. No one to blame except me. Get caught in the pattern of “I have to make it back”. 90 minutes of lost mental focus cost me the whole day. Felt like some sort of brain fog.
- The same things to work on: entries, only A+ setup, proper stops — risk.
- I have to find this emotional stability in myself. Feeling completely wiped out now.
In general, I relate this kind of trading to psychological problems:
- I will keep doing my cardio every morning — it really takes away a lot of anxiety| and excitement
- I will not be drinking coffee — it gives me these crushes, which when combined with overall exhaustion bring my consciousness to quite a low level.
What I did on Friday is extremely disappointing for me. None of this is new to me, I just need to get it under control and I know how. Monday is gonna be a clean sleight. Technically today is a clean slate though, but bringing back all these memories does hurt. Lol.
$VKTX -$39
The first entry here was the last ok entry. No momentum was going on — just a range bound trade. I should have taken the second retest of the bottom of the range and let it go.
But I wanted to make it back from other loose
$SEEL -$35
Too many emotions here.
- mistake #1 — This V-reversal pattern right of the open — tells you GTFO instead I decided to get stopped out. Besides the entry was poor since it was far away from MATA
- mistake #2 get stopped out because of the wrong size/ stop
- mistake #3 flipped positions a couple of times (again brain fog — lost meant focus), but learned a good lesson from HFTon how big players make money and how they move the stock.
$LYFT -$15
- Usual story — got so disappointed by my performance here that I didn’t give it a try into the close. Emotions
- Also the same mistake I did before — clear uptrend — no reason to get short — the only play here is to buy the dips on the trendline — that’s it. And I knew it, it just looked like it’s gonna break.
CPRX -$15
Not in play
a) Should have not been trading it
b) Should have covered half or 1 into the wash on volume
TGTX -$3
- I knew where the longs will fail
- The volume was not showing up
- I should have shorted exactly where I knew will be confirmation of failed longs.
AMRS -$4
- Missed good entries
- Allowed the stock to trade without me
APDN +$12
need to rewatch the tape here
BOXL +$60
