Reading this feels like reading a script on an African tragedy; Africa too was for many years under European colonial domination and foreign influence never ended when African countries gained independence. I am attempting to unravel the African puzzle to my audience on my blog.
Syria is a modern day political ‘Gordian’ knot that will take many years to solve. The pity of it is that is no modern day Alexander the Great to help. It is a warning to the rest of the developing world of the new geo-political reality in which we are now living. The greater tragedy is that the conflict in Syria has the potential to get transferred to Europe where many Syrian refugees are relocating. I say this because I have had many debates with Syrian and other Arab refugees in England about issues in the Middle East, and we never came to any meaningful agreement. I was left with a distinct understanding that ancient Arab animosities are really difficult to comprehend — the Arabs themselves do not appear to understand them either.
