When you have lived as I have in a failed state in Africa, believe me, the problems both the US and the UK are experiencing are nothing to crow about. For unlike many failed states in Africa and elsewhere, both the US and the UK have institutions that have actually been tried and tested; they work. Yes, yes, they are not firing on all cylinders at the moment; but they still exist albeit in a decrepit state, they can be given a new lease of life. All that is required is a little imagination. This is what saved Germany after the second great war; else the ‘Marshall Plan’ would have gone to waste, just as Aid to Africa continually goes to waste for want of credible institutions. Thank God you have those institutions. I would get busy and start repairing them if I were you, as the every existence of the USA may depend upon them.
