I’ve been advocating moving to HTTPS and HTTP/2 for security/performance gains where I work based on Ilya’s advice—someone who is spreading the word. For obtaining free SSL certificates, I’ve been keeping an eye on https://letsencrypt.org/. It’s currently in beta and sponsored by some heavy-hitters including Cisco, Mozilla, and—not surprisingly—Google Chrome.
