This won’t probably be a constructive conversation. Not because anyone here is unintelligent, but because the underlying world views are so drastically different.
I too have studied Islam, and specifically Mohammed. It’s claimed to be a religion of peace, but this is double speak if ever there was. Mohammed spent his entire life trying to subdue the world through his religion. He was one of the most violent and ruthless men to ever live. He absolutely founded a religion of governance, and was engaged in jihad for decades, killing and enslaving anyone in his path. How could such a person found a religion of peace?
The truth is as Pensuer stated- most Muslims don’t know enough about their religion. the majority of them are peaceful, and decent people, but they are not following in Mohammed’s example, and neither are they following the religion he founded.
And as he also pointed out, Christianity and Budhism, among others are not religions of governance, but quite the opposite, and those who try to make it a govt. system are in disobedience to the founders of those religions.
Islam, as it was intended by it’s creator, will only bring violence, oppression and destruction to the world. We can call the “extremist” outliers and such, but the truth is that they are following in the path clearly left by Mohammed himself. The “good” Muslims aren’t really being true to the faith.
