Get Skinny with Fat
Metabolism is the system that converts what you consume into energy. This can fluctuate, both speeding up and slowing down. So how do you signal to your body that you want to speed it up and burn some fat?
Ironically, a great way to help your body slim down for those summer months is to consume fat! But don’t go to your cheat drawer just yet — not all fats are created the same! Eating healthy, natural fats aids in speed up your metabolism.
To start, try adding some of these foods into your daily diet:
Avocado- Avocado is so delicious with sandwiches, wraps, eggs, salads, or even by itself- this is an easy way to get in some healthy fats!
Coconut Oil- Although we are a bit biased, this is a very simple way to help your body boost it’s metabolism! Adding Skinny Coconut Oil to your diet is easy- add it to your smoothies, oatmeal or right off the spoon! For more ideas, look at our infographic.
Natural Peanut Butter- Try adding this natural snack on some whole grain toast, in your smoothies, or in some oatmeal! Use this as a dip for crackers, fruit, or veggies can add a delicious spread to a little crunch!
Nuts- Walnuts and almonds make a great snack for a quick pick-me-up at work without adding the guilt. Eating small, healthy snacks can be great for your body throughout the day!
Flax Seed- To get this healthy fat, try adding some flax seeds to your salad or into your morning smoothie.
Fish- Fish is a delicious way to boost those Omega 3 Fatty Acids. It is recommended to eat fish a few times throughout the week to keep your healthy fats up, and the extra pounds down.
Olives- Keeping a jar of olives in the fridge is a great way to have a salty snack without the carbs, not to mention it is a great appetizer to have in the refrigerator in case you have any unexpected guests!
To aid in boost the effects of these foods, make sure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
