What to Stock in the Bedrooms of Your STR Home — with Amazon Links

Bedrooms are oftentimes the most crucial part of a vacation home or short-term rental. Why? Unless your home IS the destination, your guests will spend more time in the bedroom than any other part of your home. Having clean, comfortable, and attractive furniture and linens can make or break your bookings!
Whether you are an experienced short-term rental owner, or a first-timer, it’s important to ensure that your home or condo has the minimum requirements for your guests!
From 2008–2014, I owned and ran Argent Decor, a Vacation Home Furnishing Service, in Phoenix, Arizona. I worked off of a very similar list to provide turn-key packages for vacation homes and short-term rental properties.

My #1 piece of advice for bedrooms is: Go as big as you can on your bed sizes, without overwhelming the rooms.
We have booked a home that was more expensive per night and/or maybe wasn’t as great in the common areas because there was a king-sized bed in the Primary Bedroom. Vacationers that have a king bed at home, it is tough for them to “scale back” to a queen bed without kicking their partner all night.
Below the furniture packages, I’ll detail out linens and other necessary items that apply to any furniture package.

HANGERS OR HOOKS: Basic plastic ones are perfect — they can be wiped down if dirty and don’t absorb fingerprints or dust. Ones with shoulder grooves are preferred by ladies.
OUTLET NEAR THE BED: You either have this, or you don’t. If you don’t, grab a power strip extension cord.
THICK MATTRESS: Currently the highest-rated mattress on Amazon, the DIGLANT 14" Hybrid Memory Foam Mattress falls right in the middle on firmness, so it should appeal to just about everyone.
WATERPROOF MATTRESS PROTECTOR: WINKAURA’s is also noiseless (very important!) and protects against bed bugs.
SHEET SETS: Light gray has proven to be the most forgiving color.
Elif Cooling Bed Sheets are the highest-rated “budget” sheet set.
If your home is more luxurious, I suggest stepping up to Hotel Quality Sheet Sets.
1 DUVET AND 2 DUVET COVERS PER BED: (or 2 comforters). Solid colors look the crispest, and are timeless. I suggest earth tones, then adding color with accent pillows and wall art.
