truth and Vans Partner to “Finish It”

RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 11, 2016 /truth/ — Brooklyn-based artist Kevin Lyons recently partnered with truth to create a one-of-a-kind mural in Raleigh, North Carolina. The mural is located in an area where youth smoking is prevalent and tobacco usage rates higher-than-average.
truth is part of Truth Initiative, a national public health organization dedicated to achieving a culture where all youth and young adults reject tobacco. “Working with Kevin has been a pleasure and we look forward to providing yet another tool for smokers and non-smokers who want to make a change,” says truth campaign manager James Stevenson. The mural was inspired by a generation who will put an end to smoking and included monsters and empowering words from teens across the country in support of truth’s “Finish It” campaign. Seen below is the promotional video related to the truth anti-smoking campaign.
The artwork from the mural was used on a limited-edition Vans shoe design shown below. The shoe became available in Vans and Journeys stores nationwide on January 20 retailing for $60.

Vans Vice President of Product Development, Mason Duren, says,“I enjoy the Cartoon monsters shouting out phrases like ‘Let’s Make History!’ and ‘Finish It!’ because it’s a constant reminder for the person wearing the shoes to take a stand and express their beliefs.” Creative artist Keven Lyons says he, “Wants this generation to know what they can do to end tobacco for good while encouraging others to join the movement.”
