Let’s say robots automate programming that automates everything else. As an engineer, I should be the least worried because sounds like I will be the last to go.
However, I fear it will be the demise of humanity.
What we have here is a short term solution. Perhaps, in addition to retraining workers to do engineering jobs, we need to retrain our corporations to be comfortable with the idea of achieving a purpose. It’s already happening with B-corps all over America. We’ll need a a different kind of stock market that goes up and down based on the level of impact. Then we wouldn’t be in a race to replace all human beings for pure profit. I don’t have an answer, but thanks for opening up this discussion.
