Black girl Big City (Camping Chairs)

I moved to Inwood Manhattan 2 years ago and I noticed something strange and from what I’ve seen it only takes
place here. If you are not familiar with the neighborhood its pretty much Dominicans and Puerto Ricans and I of
course the only Haitian American girl. I know I’m not the only Haitian person living in Inwood but at times it feels
that way. I live on Vermilyea Ave, I know you’ve never heard of it and how do you pronounce that, LMFAO.
The strange thing about my block and neighborhood in general is on a hot summer day you will always see
families sitting outside in front of their buildings on camping chairs. I know what’s so strange about that? Well not
just sitting enjoying the nice weather but they have full on BBQ and party’s right on the side walk. Apparently
back yards and front loans are not required here. Nope just camping chairs, food, drinks, and lots of laughs and
your set. If you live in Inwood or planning on moving to Inwood you most own camping chairs to really be a part of
the hood.
