“”Don’t Be Jealous much?”
There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man .
True nobility is being superior to your former self — Hemingway
After Reading A post from “Jon Westenberg”, I was reminded about a part of myself that many nights, I mirrored in the back of mind, but oddly and ever rarily spoke on. That is “Jealousy”
The Cliche’d thing to say would be: “Don’t be Jealous of someones else’s success, instead celebrate them who is celebrating and in the end, you too will be celebrated back. We firstly know that isn’t always the case. You can support someone your entire life and yet still have it be reciprocated by the person you extended support to.
There is “No”point in comparing your lack, to the success of others, neither is there a point in being jealous over an achievement of someone else.
it shows our lack of standards for ourselves. It shows we’ve deemed ourselves as worthless and in capable of reaching greater heights for ourselves. We must stop reaching goals because others reached it, we
I understand that there are people who have slaved for years. We were taught to get a GED, graduate high-school, go to college and graduate with a career, work hard, get married, have kids and then your life is over because your kids come first.
Why must we limit ourselves to what society, or the media says; why should we compare and contrast ourselves against the pedestals and the standards of the norm when we are created differently?
We Must stop trying to climb the same walls that others have tried especially when we’re not even going in their direction, and we certainly can’t try and use the same methods where they ought not be applied. We were created with individual gifts and abilities. I was too amongst those that questioned within themselves, “Am I standing still, truly moving or have I taken steps backwards when I honestly wasn’t even motivated to move at all.” It was all in my head. I would be jealous of the artistry in music and in spoken word-because I am desiring to work in the studio, have my songs and writings published-even though majority of the industry wants me to have sex with them. I wont sacrifice, or relinquish or submit my integrity or self respect for personal gain. I will work and work from the background. The goal is to keep moving. Progress isn’t overnight. It takes trial and error. Sweat and tears. Money and saving skills. Investments and gambling’s. Risks, but ultimately planning and watering. It takes time. It doesn’t matter the attention, fame, creditability, or elevation that others receive. I was reminded and definitely was put in my place.
Would you put Flour or baking powder in Kool-aid; would you put Sugar or salt in a cake though they all be white and are used to create masterpieces? God forbid! To every living thing there is a purpose. You must find yours, work yours and succeed in yours. Funny thing, I had a vision of this day today, so see? Put your dreams and goals and visions to paper. Write the vision, make it plain, work for it, have faith, have patience, and later see results! I am a believer.
