This Day With God
There is always that moment, you face a challenge and feel you know nothing about what you always thought you knew best! This has happened to me enough times. Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, French, English, etc. Lately it happened to me in two things: Programming and the Bible…yes the Bible.
Born in a Christian family, the Bible had always been part of my breakfast at home, lunch at school, supper too… (at least for my youth age). With this kind of routine you tend to be so knowledgeable about the Bible, Jesus and all those salvation stories! Which is not a bad thing… But there is a catch… Just as a programmer can rate himself as an 8/10 in Python programming only because he has written code and read lots of Python programming books but cannot explain the purpose of _init_ method in a Python program; I was that kind of Bible learner who thought knew alot about the Bible but didn’t know the most important thing above all :
Being in the presence of God!
Reading the Bible in the presence of God is like learning Python with Guido Van the founder of Python programming language. Van would definitely guide you through the key basics that will help you crack the whole Python programming logic. The same applies with the Bible. If you learn the Bible with God, the founder of the Bible Programming language, you will understand the real…and I mean, real concept behind the Bible.
Guido Van is in the US, probably working with Dropbox as we write, therefore we know where to find him…but how about God? So far we haven’t heard of someone planning a trip and flying to heaven!!
This Day With God
For the next 10 months, together, you and I will be slowly discovering how one could learn to efficiently be in the presence of God. All your comments and additions will be welcomed since I myself am a learner.
Tibor and Maria Shelley wrote a very interesting book entitled “Communion with God”. This book teaches about being in the presence of God. You can find it on Amazon.com. If out of stock, let me know and I will see how to get one for you. This is a book you will never regret to have bought. Haven’t read it prayerfully myself, but the little I read was life changing. I urge you to find one and let us take this path together of being in the presence of God.
I might have written alot today…well it was the introduction…but I promise, as from tomorrow…just a few lines to help us try to start the day with God.
For the 308 days of 2017 ahead of us, let’s take this challenge and try to understand God better by daily being in his presence every morning, evening…or which ever time you will find fit. But as a suggestion, let us do it the Jesus way if we can, early in the morning before we move to our daily activities. Invite friends to join this publishing…who knows…that friend you would have invited might enlighten us better through their experience with God..!
