A Novel Death — how great fiction informed my grief
Dan McTiernan

And there is the purpose of the novel and the short stories and the poetry — writers attempting to transfer their experiences, their thoughts and emotions intact from one mind to another. We may live a thousand lives through the superbly written books we read, yes, biographies, autobiographies, history, natural history, real life adventure and memories too, and gain insight and understanding into the way every human being thinks and feels, gain vicarious experiences that help us in every endeavour we might face in life. Books might be entertaining, and hopefully are, but the good ones are so much more than that, they give us worlds and people and life that our own short lives cannot possibly encompass.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
