YouTube Vanced, a popular YouTube alternative that provided users with an ad-free experience for years, is being shut down. Google has compelled the app’s makers to abandon the project for legal concerns.
The official Vanced Twitter account has now launched a fresh thread in which the decision is announced. “The download links on the website will be removed in the coming days.” “We realise this isn’t what you wanted to hear, but it’s something we have to do,” reads one tweet in the thread.
According to The Verge, Google delivered a letter to Vanced owners ordering them to cease selling and developing the app. “We were instructed to erase any references to ‘YouTube,’ replace the logo, and eliminate all connections connected to YouTube goods,” a Vanced team administrator the magazine.

Vanced was a popular app among Android users for a variety of reasons. It provided an ad-free experience that was favoured over the conventional YouTube app, which gives many adverts at the beginning of a video and occasionally places a handful of ads in the midst of films.
YouTube Vanced also enabled users to utilise a fully black theme that took use of AMOLED display phones, as well as additional customizations that the original YouTube app simply could not provide.
While Vanced was not accessible on the Play Store, users could sideload it by downloading an APK file and linking their Google account to sync their data, which included subscribed channels, comments, and everything else.
According to the official notification, the current version of Vanced will continue to function for the time being. However, because no further upgrades are scheduled, the present versions will be obsolete in around two years.
