Hi Team Families, I’m Coach K!
Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself to all the team athletes and parents.
My name is Kristina but I go by Coach K :) And I will be coaching the Bronze Xcel level team with Coach Heather this coming summer and season.
I asked my parents the other day when exactly they had first enrolled me in a gymnastics class and even they couldn’t remember! I gratefully can’t remember a time in my life when I haven’t been involved with gymnastics.
Gymnastics has taught me SO much, tools that have helped guide me in and outside of the gym, but I can touch on this on a later date. Long story short, I believe gymnastics to be a powerful sport for our girls self confidence and empowerment.
And I’m so excited to be there for our girls on their own journey with gymnastics.
I am from Spokane, Washington and competed for Northwest Gymnastics Academy up until level 7. I’ve been coaching for the past 7 years. I actually coached at Spokane Gymnastics about 5 years ago before moving to the south. Before moving back to Spokane a couple months ago I was the Wellness Director for a gymnastics academy in Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta I ran the nutrition program, directed their Big Sis/ Lil Sis program, coached both team/rec and held Self Love Club Workshops for the athletes.
I write a blog that goes out by email every Sunday where I share my passion for all things gymnastics related, health and wellness, and improving one’s self compassion and self love.
