Week 2! This time I am joined by some special guests: Korgoth and Ravi! Now you have even more people to flame you. None of the scrims or inhouses inbetween Sundays have been that interesting (other than our team getting STOMPED BY LAVA YIKES), so I’ll focus on the main games.

My prediction from last week:
Lava 2–0 Bubbles (Nasty is going to struggle against Lava in the midlane, and with some momentum Lava should be able to lead his team to victory)
Actual result:
Lava 1–1 Bubbles
Slinky: Game 1 was as I had kind of expected. Lava won his midlane and Nickasauce crushed his lane on axe. Whilst Nasty did better than I expected, Nickasauce also performed better than I expected and performed amazingly. Whilst Barrel managed to put up a fight in his lane, Nick made enough space for Shwaazi to free farm and although the game did last 45 minutes, it would’ve been very tough for Bubbles to come back. Game 2, however, was completely unexpected. Nasty beat our resident 4k midlaner Lava which certainly surprised me and Barrel Rider had a great time on Abaddon. Whilst Nick still did amazing, it just wasn’t enough. The game was incredibly close and even in Lava’s favour until the very end when his team had megas, but a big team fight led to a victory for Bubbles.

Korgoth: I didn’t watch these games, but I wanted to contribute this meme:

My prediction:
Avgpeen 2–0 Lonewolf (Maybe 1–1, I haven’t seen Dynamomagic play yet)
Actual result:
Avgpeen 1–1 Lonewolf
Slinky: So, Dynamomagic was swapped out for Zerg and oh boy, this was definitely an upgrade. Game 1 saw LoneWolf in the safelane and Zerg mid. This was a big throw, they were just in the lead for most of the game after winning lanes and taking a number of good teamfights, but following Lava’s trend they lost a huge teamfight at the end, allowing Avgpeen to get the win. Game 2 was similar; Lonewolf and Zerg swapped lanes, all their lanes did well and even after all 5 of them dying with no kills in a teamfight at 35 minutes, their lead was large enough that they held on and closed out the game.

Korgoth: My insider perspective on this one. First, after hearing absolutely nothing from Dynamomagic for two weeks, we got Zerg as a replacement. I had heard great things about him, and saw him perform. Dude’s great, I’m super glad he’s on our team.
Game 1: Very VERY close. I think we could’ve pulled it off, but there was a particularly bad fight taken outside of the dire high ground, and I disconnected right as I needed to be reinforcing the fight after buying back. I’m not saying I got doxxed, but I think someone might’ve sent a Deathrocket down my internet pipe. Overall, very good game. I think that both teams played well here.
Game 2: Also quite close from what I recall, however we managed to pull it out in the end with the power of friendship and magic. But mostly a 16–3 OD performance and 10–3 LS performance from Lonewolf and Zerg respectively.

My prediction:
Kai 2–0 Hollywood (Maybe 1–1 if Joel has a good lane)
Actual result: Kai 0–2 Hollywood
Slinky: YIKES! Tyboar quit ld2l and Kai’s team forfeited. If he wasn’t enjoying Dota because of stress anymore then it was probably best for his team that he left now and they have time to hopefully find someone new, since it wouldn’t be good for Tyboar or his team if he kept playing if he was under too much stress, but nonetheless, its quite the blow to Kai’s team for him to lose his first picked core. Tyboar probably quit cuz he had to play with Adam the week before. No replacement has yet been added to the LD2L website so keep your eyes peeled!

Korgoth: Big Feelsbadman here. I think this would’ve likely gone in Holly’s favor either way, but it would’ve been nice to watch. Mostly to see dirty LoL players get squashed beneath the iron boot of Dota-cracy. Hopefully Kai finds a good replacement for Tyboar, because he’ll definitely want it. I feel like the mid lane is one of the most important ones in this league, so you definitely don’t want to skimp out there.

My prediction:
Warsaw 1–1 Lotus (Gonna be close)
Actual result: Warsaw 1–1 Lotus
Slinky:

Korgoth: Game 1: Slinky bounty hunter carry. Honestly though, that offlane slaughtered Jotham’s safelane, even with Irissia on her star Witch Doctor. Waffz had a solid two+ item lead on Jotham for most of the game. Lotus did have a stellar performance over Warsaw in mid, but I feel like that would matter more if Warsaw played hard-carry type heroes. Since Warsaw Invoker just ran around with the already ahead BH, he was able to dominate that matchup.
Game 2: I think that most of this game was a draft issue. The P3 Death Prophet looked really gimmicky and didn’t seem to offer too much. There were also some itemization problems on both sides which might have contributed, but overall Lotus played an insane puck, Jotham’s lane was not nearly as bad as G1, which allowed him to actually pick up tempo as jugg. After that, the game looked pretty much over, as the ES + Puck gave Lotus’s team a lot of lockdown in fights, whereas DP and Necro just sorta refused to die, but without the ability to kill. In the end, the DP seemed like a gamble that didn’t pay off for team Warsaw, although I appreciate the spiced up draft.

Predictions for next week:
Slinky:
Warsaw 1–1 Hollywood
Bubbles 1–1 Avgpeen
Lotus 2–0 Lonewolf
Kai ?-? Lava (Still waiting to see the replacement) EDIT: Just saw replacement is Soggyknight, never heard of the guy. He’s got over 2000 games but nearly all of his core winrates are sub 50, never a good sign. Probably leaning towards a Lava 2–0 Kai)

Korgoth: I refuse to agree with Slinky.
Warsaw 2–0 Hollywood
Bubbles 0–2 avgpeen
Lotus 1–1 Lonewolf
Kai 0–2 Lava (idc replacement, I believe)
Where is this guys flame blog?
