Michael Rolando Richards (August 2, 1963-September 11, 2001) was a profound African American sculptor of Jamaican and Costa Rican ancestry who was killed on Sept. 11, 2001 during the World Trade Center attack while in his art studio on the 92nd Floor of the Twin Towers. He explored his African American history and identity through sculpture, conceptual art, and installation pieces.

Mr. Richard’s Wikipedia page was very limited and was considered a stub which means the article was deemed too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject. I expanded the article by referencing two external sources. Additionally, I made grammatical corrections and one fact correction. In the original Wikipedia article, it stated that Mr. Richards was born in Jamaica, but in fact he was born in Brooklyn, New York. I also made formatting changes and added a section called Notable Work. In this section, I made greater distinction of his two most famous sculptures, Tar Baby vs. St. Sebastian and Are You Down.
