Kim Soo-hyun 29, Busan Metropolitan Sports Council won three gold medals in the women’s 81kg weight class at the 2024 Asian Weightlifting Championships.

Kim Soo-hyun ranked first in all three categories in the women’s 81-kg competition held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on the 8th, with 110kg of impression, 144kg of dragon and 254kg in total.

Unlike the Olympics and Asian Games, where medals are awarded only with total records, the Asian Weightlifting Championships awards all three categories.

Kim Soo-hyun won three gold medals by writing a “clean sheet” that succeeded in both the 1st and 3rd phases of the first and third phases of the dragon.

The second “Korean Champion” of the tournament came out after Won Jong-beom 27, Gangwon-do Office in the men’s 96kg weight class.

This is the first time Kim Soo-hyun has competed in an 81-kg event in an international competition.

Last year, he competed in the 76kg category at the Asian Weightlifting Championships and won the bronze medal at the 76kg category at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Kim Soo-hyun, who has shifted her attention to the Paris Olympics, which will open in July this year, decided to get used to the 81-kilogram class.

The women’s weightlifting at the Hangzhou Asian Games is divided into seven weight classes 49kg, 55kg, 59kg, 64kg, 76kg, 87kg, 87kg, and more, but the women’s weight class will be reduced to five weight classes 49kg, 59kg, 71kg, 81kg, 81kg and more at the Paris Olympics.

Kim Soo-hyun is overcoming the unfavorable factor of ‘his weight class’ disappearing at the Paris Olympics with her unique bright energy.

As she won the Asian Championships, Kim Soo-hyun raised her ranking from 11th to tied for 6th in the preliminary round at the Paris Olympics, where 12 people per weight class will compete.

Kim Yi-seul 23, Incheon Metropolitan City Hall, who participated together, won two bronze medals with 105 kilograms of impression, 133 kilograms of dragon and 238 kilograms in total.

Kim Yi-seul finished fourth in impressions, but moved up to third in the Dragon Awards, raising her total ranking to third.

Rizina Adasivaev 22, Uzbekistan, who held a total of 243 kg 107 kg in snatch and 136 kg in total, ranked second in the weight class.

In the women’s 76kg class, Jeong Chun-hee 25, North Korea won 111kg of impression, 125kg of dragon and 236kg of total weight.

All 11 North Korean athletes who participated in the competition were ranked first in the weight class. 토토
