Whirlwind of Love

The kingdom of God is like a rapturous whirlwind of love, enveloping the believer into an ecstatic union with the infinite, transcendent God. Once the flow of divine love has begun in a soul, it cannot be stopped: it is implacable, unimpeachable, inexorable. God is a jealous lover. Through the Holy Spirit, He enters into the heart of the believer and makes a residence there, starting a process of transformation that effects every part of the believer’s life.

The Christian experience is one of absolute peace and joy, the likes of which nothing in the world can match. Once exposed to the tide of love that is the Holy Spirit, the individual cannot escape the quiet urgings of the Spirit in their soul and conscience. God wants to be intimate with the believer. He wants to be the sole center of their life, to be the absolutely most important thing in their life.

Until God is placed as the locus of the mind, heart, and soul, true peace and happiness are impossible to attain. It is only through a relationship with Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit that true joy and true tranquility can be found. This is because all of the things of the world will fail, but the Word of God cannot fail. It cannot be curtailed by anything. If you don’t base your life on God, you will base it on one idol or another; be it fame, power, money, influence, or status. These idols trap the individual in a frustrated cycle of self-absorption which rots the soul from the inside out.

Forming a relationship with the Holy Spirit is simple: all He requires is love and trust. If you give yourself, your whole self, to Jesus Christ and accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior, the way is open for life to be an ecstatic feast of love with God. This power cannot be matched by anything in this world. It is so overpowering that the entire person is transformed by it. It is a self-authenticating inner witness that proves the validity of the Gospel.
