We are podcasts lovers, we listen to podcasts several times a week and subscribes to a lot of great shows. One thing we noticed about the existing podcast clients is that they all try to keep up with the latest and greatest episodes. As a user, once the subscription list goes beyond 10+ subscriptions, it becomes unmanageable. There are approaches to mitigate the problem, for example, custom lists or keeping only limited number of new episodes. However, these approaches are still far from satisfactory.
We imagine an ideal podcast client should adjust to users’ listening pace instead of podcasts updating pace. It should use minimum users’ storage space and apply no pressure to the users. It should pull new episodes at the right time when the users just about to finish the current ones and notify users with minimum annoyance. With Slowcast, you can accomplish all of the above.
