It’s Okay

It’s okay if you don’t love the way you look. It’s okay if you love the way you look. It’s okay if you’re not in a relationship. It’s okay if you’re in a relationship. It’s okay if you’re chubby. It’s okay if you’re fat. It’s okay if you’re average. it’s okay if you’re skinny. It’s okay to be loud, okay to be quiet, okay to be a freaking human being! And I’m sick of society saying it’s not.

We live in a world that preaches positivity and acceptance, but the world is a cruel place. It’s hard to be yourself. It is hard to look in the mirror and love yourself. It’s hard to see yourself as worth something when the world tries to tell you you’re not if you fall into certain criteria. It isn’t fair, it isn’t right, and it isn’t okay. It’s disgusting.

You are so amazingly special and I’m here to tell you that it is okay to be that way! It is okay if you’re a fat red head, the class clown, and you’re dating a guy shorter than you! It’s okay if you’re super tall, quiet and you love to read. It’s okay if you’re just average. It’s okay if you’re not smart and it’s okay if you are smart! It’s okay to have flaws and insecurities and that makes you beautiful. It makes you someone I want to meet, and it makes you a valuable asset to society, not someone society needs to hide in the shadows.

So hold your head high. Walk around with confidence. Be your beautiful, odd, quirky, and ridiculous self because you are awesome the way you are. You are okay. You are definitely, one hundred percent, okay.
