Thanks for sharing these thoughts. I’m, let’s say, of a similar vintage so get completely where you are coming from. I also read an interesting take on the filter bubble from another publication I trust:

And that’s the only point that I would add: that in a world of publishing access, everyone (to some extent) can now shout their views through hundreds of channels. And if you haven’t been thinking carefully about the channels you do listen to (and being broad-minded about this), then it’s incredibly easy to create your bubble — AND to only here the shouts from those who are less qualified to do the shouting. (and not mentioning the algorithms that shape what shows up in our feeds…)
