I am an illustrator based in a studio in Brunswick, Melbourne. I’ve been drawing since I could pick up a pencil. When I was four, I cut some of my hair off to complete a picture of a pony.
What is your favourite thing to draw? Do you keep a sketchbook? What do you fill it up with?
I really love drawing plants and anything to do with space. I just got a really nice new sketchbook, and I’ve gotten on a nice sketchbook roll! Lots of thumbnails of comics I’ll never make, lots of plants, and unfortunately I’ve started tainting it with meeting notes and risograph quote math.
What’s a great comic you’ve read recently?
I bought A Graphic Cosmogony anthology by No Brow press a few weeks ago and I’m dying for some time to read it! I love reading Michael Deforge’s comics, the latest I read was First Year Healthy and it was amazing.
What’s the most enjoyable part of the comics making process for you?
Getting on a roll with thumbnailing and planning is the hardest part, inking and printing are by far the best parts!
Is Print dead?
Print’s not dead, its just gone to bed. But no really, print will always be alive while there are people who want to add a little more magic to their work.
Do you remember the last cool thing you got in the mail?
A brand new guillotine! With no assembly instructions!
