What is Cydia?
Cydia is the default app manager for Jailbroken iOS devices. It is an alternative for Apple App store.
It can be used to download and install a variety of software packages that add functionality and customize iOS devices.
How to download Cydia?
You must Jailbreak your device to install full functional Cydia. End of the every untethered or semi untethered Jailbreak process, it will automatically install Cydia on your device.
There is no untethered or semi untethered Jailbreak for some iOS versions. Usually, it will take sometimes to release untethered or semi untethered Jailbreak tools for each iOS version. As a result of that there is alternative Jailbreak methods to install special version of Cydia.
Cydia Developer
Jay Freeman, known as Saurik is the developer of Cydia. Cydia initially released in February 2008 as an open-source alternative to Installer app. It has claimed 30 million jailbroken devices installed Cydia in 2009.
Cydia for iOS 12 & higher
Cydia for iOS 12.2 -Unfortunately, full functional Cydia is not available for iOS 12.2. You can download special version of Cydia from Hexxa or Visitan. You will be missed the most functions of Cydia.
Method 1- Install Cydia from Hexxa Jailbreak repo extractor.
Hexxa is a jailbreak repo extractor. First you have to install Hexxa on your iOS 12.2 device. Then open the Hexxa. Go to get Repos. There is a list of Hexxa compatible Jailbreak repositories. Select the Cydia repo and copy it. Then tap the Extract repo button and paste the Repo. Then Cydia repo will extract to your iOS 12 device.
Method 2 - Install Cydia from Visitan
Vistian is the jailbreak app installation method for iOS 12.2. You can install Vistian from their official website. Also, you need to have installed Apple’s new shortcuts app. Then open Vistian from your device and touch on Cydia available on “Top Tweaks’. However, this Cydia will function with minimal features.
You can download both of these apps from 3rd party app stores such as zJailbreak or Xabsi.
Cydia for iOS 12.1.4 / iOS 12.1.3 — Still, there is no untethered or semi untethered Jailbreak for these versions too. It has alternative eJailbreak methods for these versions. You can install Cydia with Ziyu, Vistian as well as Anzhuang. However all the Cydia functions may not work with this Cydia.
Ziyu-This will install Cydia and Jailbreak Tweaks on iOS 12.1.3 / iOS 12.1.4 by extracting repos.
Vistian- Install Cydia by adding Cydia source using Apple Shortcut feature.
Anzhuang - This is Jailbreak app installer which is used dev code extraction method.
Cydia for iOS 12.1.2 - iOS 12 - It has Uncover Jailbreak for iOS 12 to iOS 12.1.2 versions. It is a semi-untethered Jailbreak released by Pwn20wnd. You can get Cydia which is full functional with this Unc0ver Jailbreak. This is the one and Only semi untethered Jailbreak jailbreak for iOS 12 to iOS 12.1.2 so far.
