Smart Trip Platform — an inside look at the tech side

As our pre-ICO is drawing nearer (April 16, remember?), we are telling you more and more about the technical features of our future platform. Today we will take a broad look at some of our most useful features — in our upcoming posts, we will tell you more about them!

So, once Smart Trip Platform is fully implemented and launched and you log into your account — say, to plan a new trip, reply to some messages or share a few fresh pics — you will see the following:

Info module — left vertical bar:

• Panel consisting of bright, attention-grabbing icons on the left side of the screen
• Once you hover your mouse over an icon, a tooltip appears;
• You can add or remove icons (and thus, apps) via an easy-to-use settings panel — you will just have to check or uncheck a box (of course, you can always restore features later);
• You can place those features you use most often at the top of the bar — Smart Trip Platform is fully customizable!
• Business and private accounts will have slightly different lists of features;
• General features — reliable weather forecasts, currency converter, etc.

To summarize: the info module will include those features that you need most on your trip — and you decide which ones, pinning your favorites onto the dashboard!

Here are just some of such features/mini apps:

Important tips & Emergency help — this mini app will help you if anything dodgy happens. It will be able to save your itinerary starting from a set point you choose (hotel, tour group meeting point, landmark, airport…). If your internet connection is lost, the app will remember your itinerary and guide you back to the starting point — even offline.

This section will also include contacts of emergency services nearest to you; once again, if you find yourself without Internet, you will be offered emergency contacts nearest to your last registered location. The information will include phone number and address of the nearest police station, ambulance or hospital, your insurance company, embassy or consulate; you will also be able to access important safety tips on how to behave if you find yourself in an emergency in the country where you find yourself.

Weather forecast — this feature will give you not just location-specific forecast, but also water temperature, avalanche bulletin, flood or earthquake warnings, and so on.

Currency converter will provide not just a convenient currency calculator, but also exchange rate forecasts, local money policy, tips on changing money, bank opening hours, etc.

Discovery/Country info section — here you’ll get all the basic info about the place where you find yourself: local languages (so that you can set up the translator module at once), currency (helping you tweak the settings for your virtual debit card), local customs and ethnicities, and so on. We will give you tips on what you shouldn’t do (so that you can avoid any cultural faux pas). All this info will keep you out of trouble that often spoils trips for unexperienced travelers.

Calendar/Events — we love this one! It’s a calendar of festivals, celebrations, and important dates, complete with participation rules, ticket prices, reviews, and more.

All the information on the platform will be edited and compiled by users who have real experience of travel in each destination. Users will be rewarded by rating points and token bonuses for their efforts.

Of course, this is far from an exhaustive list of Smart Trip Platform features — but we won’t reveal all our secrets just yet!
