Thank you so much for this word and photo tour. In the fall of 1969 when I was stationed with the Army in Germany, I spent a week‘s leave in Scheveningen. I had a room in a pension on the first street up from the beach and a short way from the pier. I rented a bicycle and got all over the The Hague, merging with the citizens in the two wheeled morning rush hour. I also spent quite a bit of time on the beach, even though it was late enough in the year to be quite sunless and chilly. I found the people there to be among the friendliest of anywhere I visited in Europe. That week remains as one of my fondest memories of my European duty.
