Learning CSS Positioning

Today we began learning the concepts of layout design with an emphasis on inline and block syntax. I knew the concept of using margins and borders to create blocks of text but did not understand why I could not align two text blocks next to each other. After further dabbling through the lesson, I learned the easy cure to my problem was to use inline instead of block format. After my understanding of this concept, I ended my session by dabbling with relative text positioning.
