The Superhero Lust

Have you ever wanted to be a superhero? Do you wish you could feel what it is like to have such incredible power at your fingertips? Ever wonder what it would be like to fly, see through walls, or even throw fire? Maybe, your the type of person that just wants to go super fast or read peoples minds

If you are thinking about superpowers all you really need to do is think Superman. I personally think that Superman is overrated due to his many superpowers. But if you want to consider what power you would like to have all you need to do is think about Superman. He has too many powers for me to just list off but some of his biggest are flight, super strength, super speed, x-ray vision, laser beam eyes, super hearing and sight, and for some reason the ability to erase people’s memories by kissing them. Flight would definitely be his biggest power because he pretty much always flies when he isn’t playing dress-up as Clarke Kent at the Daily Planet.

I often wonder to myself what it would be like to have superpowers. What it would feel like standing on the ground and slowly lifting up off of it, then bursting through the sky. I wonder what the air would feel like through my hair and on my skin and contemplating how fast I could really go. Could I break the sound barrier? What would that feel like? Would I need earplugs? These are all questions I have asked myself when thinking about flight.

My number one choice for a Superpower would be what I like to call “The Rogue Touch.” If you know what I am referencing when I say that then A+ for you. If you don’t know the reference then let me shine a light on that very dull life that you more than likely live. Rogue is a comic book character from the Marvel franchise. Her superpower is the ability to pretty much steal the powers of other mutants and use them as her own. She can only use them for a limited amount of time, of course. The recipients of the touch do wind up feeling a bit groggy and drained afterwards because the touch doesn’t just such the powers from the person, it also drains some life force from them too. I wouldn’t want that part of the power of course because I could accidentally kill someone. This power does seem to be pretty selfish and I am kind of okay with that. Of course, I would only choose this superpower if other people has superpowers too.

If I was the only one with superpowers or I wasn’t able to have “The Rogue Touch” my second choice would be Super Speed. No matter how much training I would need to do or how much pain I would need to endure, I would do it to control my powers. Super Speed is a power that has a variety possibilities if the person is fast enough and know how to control it. Some absolutely amazing possibilities include a healing factor (super fast healing), intangibility (molecular vibration), Time Travel, and Flash Step (kinda like teleportation but not). I can just imagine what it would be like to be able to vibrate my molecules at super speed and simply walk through walls or any other obstacles. Time Travel would be pretty great as well but it would be very dangerous. One of the biggest and best factors that come with Super Speed would be the healing factor. Just think, you get a cut on your arm and almost instantly it’s healed. Of course that is mainly due to the fact that it is just a simple cut. Now think about five of your ribs and one of your arms being broken; in a couple of hours they would be completely healed. It’s pretty amazing.

So I typically think about this stuff quite a bit and pretty much every day. It’s just something that really interests me and I can’t help but get goosebumps when I really think about this stuff. Maybe it’s just the massive geek that lurks inside of me, I don’t know. It’s just who I am.
