Where does a lighthouse sit on a pink sand beach?
Ah, the maritime provinces of Canada. Prince Edwards Islands (PEI) is a true gem — it has a beautiful landscape, tons of lighthouses, and plenty of fishing and lobster tours to take part in.
Our favorite excursion was to take a lobster boat out to bring in lobster traps. We learned all about how lobsters are fished. Did you know that a single lobster can lay 1,000 eggs? Incredible. Our tour included a fresh lobster dinner at sunset — really awesome.
As you drive around PEI, you see variants of landscape. Luscious terrain surrounding ponds, pink sand beaches, and green meadows inhabited by horses.
We stumbled on many small port towns with old lobster shacks, eateries, and fishing supplies.
But our favorite part of PEI were the lighthouses. You can just imagine sailors traversing the waters and being beckoned by the light from the shore.
