Some issues need professional attention, but some could be fixed by any person like this one. Screen lines occur for many different reasons; when a screen displays vertical lines often means that there is a problem with the VGA (video) cable connection to the your Dell laptop screen or the cable itself. You may wonder; how to get rid of this situation? What to do so that your display could look like a newer one?

Well, in order to fix this issue you just need to follow a few steps; given by Dell Laptop Support. Before we begin make sure your Dell laptop display is disassembled and you’re carrying a laptop screwdriver.

Step 1:

First of all check the A/C adapter’s power indicator light; make sure the indicator light is on, if not, try it on a working power outlet.

Step 2:

Remove the rubber panel that covering the screws on the laptop LCD, using a flat-head mini-screwdriver, remove the screws, and then carefully pull up it from the LCD using your fingers.

Step 3:

Release the plastic latches that are holding the frame in place, and then remove it. (Do it carefully)

Step 4:

Remove the screw holders to the support brackets. The video cable will appear which is attached to the back of the Dell LCD.

Step 5:

Try unplugging the cable, after that wait for 10 seconds, and reconnect it, but make sure that it is seated properly.

Step 6:

Turn on the laptop. With moving or touching the screen, move the cable around a bit. Check the screen; see if the display image changes at all. If it occurs, the problem may be with the cable itself.
