Letter to the editor: Neighborhood association president calls for protests

Those of us who live in the Southside neighborhoods have continuously been ignored by our city councilmen.

We have repeatedly asked them to meet with us, to attend our monthly meetings, and to hear our concerns. Neither of them has bothered to return our calls.

We are tired of the unresponsiveness and lack of concern shown by our city councilmen.

Starting Monday, we will have weekly protests at City Hall starting at 5 p.m. In addition, we will start a petition drive to change our government so that our city councilmen represent ward districts.

We will go door-to-door in the Southside neighborhoods and be at each of the neighborhood grocery stores every day beginning Monday.

Join our cause and make your voice heard. Sign the petition and join our protests.
