Well, this is also my first blog post on Medium! Hello from a hardcore anime fan and someone who can write all day, every day. I am so excited to share with you the experiences and inner feelings that an anime movie evokes in me, and I know I’m not alone. Anime movies are very special and close to my heart; they really stir my emotions. My moods swing along with the movie I watch; for instance, if it’s a sad film, I’m down in the dumps all day, and if it has a happy ending, I’m over the moon for a while.

Today, I found myself pondering what sparked this passion in me. How did I end up watching anime movies, and why am I so obsessed with them? So, here is the nice story you were expecting from me.

It was a fine breezy day when I returned from school, unsure about which television channel to watch. I was randomly surfing through the channels when I found the film “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” which caught my attention. Initially, I thought it was a cartoon series, but I soon realized it was an anime — a time when I was unaware of the difference between anime and cartoons. Now, back to the story of “Kiki’s Delivery Service”…

The little girl in her thirteen with short hair, red ribbon, the black cat, and her flying broom make her peculiar from the other characters. The movie itself is a mix of fantasy; a witch girl thriving to sustain herself in the modern world, solo without the other witches’ help is the plot. She runs a small courier service and does the delivery selfly justifying the name of the movie “kiki’s delivery service” and of course kiki is her sweet name. The storyline, background, character sketching, contrasting yet cohesive colours, enhancing sound effects, and supporting casts make the whole story come along, so so-well.

By the end of the movie, I was left mesmerized. I sat there for more than a minute even after the movie was over, and made me think about how beautiful these movies are.

Since then, I started watching the same channel, which led me to this wonderful, emotion-filled world of “ANIME” — the best discovery for me!

Now, my love has intensified because I have been watching more anime movies, and yeah, I’ve ended up writing about those now.

Sorry, you are all now stuck with me :) I’ve got more exciting things to talk about regarding my “love for anime.”
