Refreshed and ready to hit the road we left Santa Barbara in high spirits about the 6 hour car trip ahead. Armed with a killer playlist (put together by none other than myself) and an endless supply of snacks, we headed off to San Francisco.
Almost half way through the trip, we made a pit stop for our first diner experience, Denny’s. Being late afternoon we were famished, but craving breakfast as the cereal we had eaten with our fingers earlier that morning was not that satisfying.

The second half of the trip went smoothly (if not slowly), we hit our first traffic jam and Ali had her first go at driving, but we still rolled in to San Francisco just after the 6 hour mark.
We didn’t have long to settle after we arrived before we headed out to AT&T park for the San Francisco Giants vs. Cincinnati Reds baseball game. A first for all of us, we struggled to understand the game and the rules. But we cheered when the crowd cheered, and the fans accepted us as one of their own.

After a three hour long game, two balls almost in the face, a hotdog and a pretzel, you’d think we would’ve been exhausted, but we still found time to relive the day and talked ourselves to sleep.
Our next day in San Francisco didn’t consist of much except shopping. Navigating the city streets, we managed to waste the day away in only three stores (I mean they are multi level). Countless bags in tow, we headed home to rest our feet and start preparing our first home cooked meal.
All that walking and shopping hit us around 10pm, and we turned in for an early night ready to do it all again tomorrow.
