A recognized leader in communications, David Almacy brings over 20 years of experience at the intersection of government, media, public relations, digital communications and politics. As a partner at Engage, a digital agency based in Alexandria, Virginia, David leads the public relations and media practice for an extensive list of political, corporate and issue advocacy clients. David joined Engage after six years at Edelman as a senior vice president working on integrated digital media accounts including Hilton Worldwide, Adobe, ICANN, API and Wounded Warrior Project. Previously, David was the White House Internet director under President George W. Bush where he served as an official spokesman, drove online strategy as primary owner of WhiteHouse.gov and spearheaded the site’s comprehensive redesign in 2007. In 2007, David was named as one of PRWeek’s Top 40 Under 40. In May 2009, Washingtonian magazine listed David among the Top 100 Tech Titans in Washington, DC. Previous experience includes positions at the U.S. Department of Education, C-SPAN, Washington Business Journal, Republican National Committee and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. David also teaches as an adjunct faculty member in Georgetown University’s Public Relations and Corporate Communications Master’s Program.
