Editor for Newsroom Standards, Wall Street Journal

Karen Miller Pensiero is the Editor for Newsroom Standards at The Wall Street Journal and is responsible for guiding and upholding the Journal newsroom’s standards and ethics around the globe. 
Ms. Pensiero’s career at the Journal spans more than 30 years, and she has focused her interest on standards and ethics since 2004. Prior to that, she held a variety of journalism and corporate positions at the Journal and its parent company Dow Jones, including managing editor/international; money and markets editor of The Wall Street Journal Europe; director of corporate communications; and director of Dow Jones Interactive Publishing International, where she responsible for the international expansion of digital businesses, including WSJ.com. In 2000, she led the team that created Dow Jones’s first intranet. She began her career as a Dow Jones Newspaper Fund intern in 1984. 
Ms. Pensiero is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
