One of the founders of Social Media Weekend, Liz Borod Wright discovered her passion for social media in 2009 when she needed a way to drive traffic to her travel blog, Travelogged.com. Being an early adopter opened doors to teaching at her alma mater, Columbia Journalism School, with Sree Sreenivasan, and later on at NYU and Pace. It also led to consulting opportunities with Austria Tourist Office and Carnegie Corporation, and a seven-month temporary position as social media editor at NBC 4 New York. She currently contributes to BBC Travel’s social feeds as a BBC Localite for New York City..

Prior to launching her blog, Liz held editorial staff positions at Zagat, ABC News, Good Housekeeping, Fortune and Life & Style Weekly.
