Sharaf Mowjood is a senior producer for political video at the Huffington Post. His work covers editorial videos for politics and all digital verticals at the Huffington Post, ranging from breaking news coverage to long form videos. His digital videos at the Huffington Post have reach over 40 million views and ranged from politics, lifestyle to feature stories. Before the Huffington Post Mowjood was a field producer at NBC News. He was on the campaign trail covering Donald Trump’s Presidential run for Nightly News with Lester Holt, TODAY, MSNBC and nbcnews.com. His career at NBC began when he was one of six chosen from among 2,000 applicants to receive the NBC News Associates Fellowship in 2010. Mowjood’s first published byline appeared on the front page of The New York Times in 2009 for breaking the story about a mosque being built two blocks north of Ground Zero, today famously known as “The Ground Zero”​ mosque. His stories have made the front page of The New York Times four times, and his videos have made the front page of The Times website. His work and story ideas have also been featured in The Washington Post, ABC News, TODAY show, Nightly News with Brian Williams, MSNBC, and The Rachel Maddow Show. Along with booking newsmakers and world leaders for all NBC platforms. Mowjood has also worked with Emmy Award-winning anchor and correspondent Ann Curry and has reported on the humanitarian situation in Syria and the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the West. Mowjood is a board member of SAJA — South Asian Journalists Association, a non-profit organization that distributes over $60,000 in scholarships o students of South Asian decent who are aspiring journalists, writers, producers, anchors and correspondents. SAJA also provides over $10,000 in fellowships, and $2,000 in paid media internships.
