Snapchat has recently opened their geofilters so anybody can create a snapchat geofilter.
Snapchat geofilters are equivalent to Facebook ads in the early days they are relatively low cost and can have a huge impact if you do it right.
Just like Facebook ads you can target specific audiences. While Snapchat is still in the infancy of their ad product. You can still target geographic area. Whereas Facebook allows you to go a bit deeper in demographics.
The ablity to target a geographic area with a Snapchat geofilter is a huge opportunity for businesses, event managers, and trolls!!!

You’ll need to use fancy software like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop to create your Snapchat geofilter. Snapchat has templates you can use if you want to create your own geofilter. Click here to download them.
When you submit your filter it should be saved as web-optimized, transparent PNG files. Make sure each filter is 1080 pixels wide and 1920 pixels high. Files should also be under 300KB for optimal speed on Snapchat.
Snapchat has strict rules about geofilters, so it’s important to do your research if you want your design to be accepted. Filters for specific businesses are not allowed. Neither are designs that block too much of the screen.
Check out this chart from Snapchat for more details about the specifics of your design.
