About the NISER
Under the auspices of the Indian Department of Atomic Energy, the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) is a public research institute located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. Homi Bhabha National Institute is associated with the institute. On August 28, 2006, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (who held office from 2004 to 2014) laid the foundation stone. Beginning in September 2007, the Indian government allocated ₹823.19 crore (US$100 million) for the project’s first seven years of operation. According to Nature Index 2020, which was put together by Nature Research, it was ranked second in the nation.
About Program A: Summer Internship / Short-term Project Program at NISER Bhubaneswar
Three months: May through July of 2024
Extensions for longer stays won’t be accepted.
There won’t be a cost or financial assistance or stipend given.
Program B: Work Program for Long-Term/Dissertation Projects
Maximum duration: six months, from July to December of 2024.
An extension for a longer stay won’t be accepted unless there are special circumstances.
Fee: Private university, college, or institute students who are accepted into this program must pay an amount of Rs. 10,000 for a period of six months.
There won’t be any funding or stipend offered.
Concerning the Summer Internship Opportunity at NISER Bhubaneswar
NISER (National Institute of Science Education and Research), Bhubaneswar’s School of Biological Sciences is currently accepting applications from students interested in summer internships and short- and long-term (dissertation) project work. Students enrolled in science programs at accredited universities or institutes are eligible to apply.
Qualifications
Candidates must be enrolled in UG or PG degree programs related to science.
Applying students must not have previously participated in any of these SBS-NISER programs.
Candidates must be enrolled in UG or PG science-related degree programs at the moment.
Duties and Positions
Selected students will work under the direction and control of School of Biological Sciences faculty members.
Salary For these programs, there will be no compensation or financial assistance given.
Whereabouts
The School of Biological Sciences, NISER, Bhubaneswar is the venue for the programs.
