Stay positive with Office politics …

What comes to your mind when you hear office politics? Down the memory lane it takes me through a lot many emotions ,back stabbing,grape wines,gossips, rumours, lies , spying. ….

You have to be alert and composed when dealing with your colleagues,peers , bosses,super bosses.All the things that happen in office are professional there is nothing personal about the shit ,.But yes. there are some people who like to do gossips about you at your back and create wonderful grapewines which will make you laugh untill they reach you.the things keep multiplying at the speed of light and it will keep you wondering how it all actually started ..

There are a few ways I will discuss here which might work out for some and for some it might not….

1. Practice meditation- This will keep you cool throughout the day and help you to stay calm in toughest of situation.
2. Stay away from negative people who will take away the calmness and your inner peace. Watch out for people who try to pull you down and are huddle in your success.
3. Watch out in your organisation whether the growth is purely basis merit and performance or it also includes relationships like friendships, romance, respect or something else .
4. Be brave not naive – Be close to your enemies and closer to your friends. This will keep you updated with the office politics going around you. Learn to listen . People like it when others listen to them . You should be a good listener . Don’t jump to solutions .
5. Make the best of your network- your network should be very strong to keep you updated about good and bad things happening around you . Many people have a great spider like network at workplace which will keep you wondering that they are aware about certain changes that might happen in future but they act like nothing has happened .
6. Build your own PROCIAL network at office . Lookout for connections beyond your Team , across various departments, across various regions and look out across all hierarchies.
7. Be friendly with everyone and don’t stick to just one group of people. Be open and friendly to all . Don’t get into grape wines . Stay away from gossip mongers.
8. There will be many people who will back stab many times until you are aware of what is happening around you . Stay away from negative people at workplace because these pupils will always keep enjoying your failures . Failure is the first step to success. so don’t worry . Be vigilant , polite and keep your tongue soft and sweet .
9. Have your voice heard – if there are wrong allegations happening about you . Don’t be quite , speak out for yourself .
10. Always remember your BOSS is always right . Don’t cross the line . But if things are going wrong you can always discuss with him and take guidance .
11. People like to spy others and spying at workplace is a common phenomenon to please seniors . Although many seniors don’t have the habit to fall pray some get carried away easily . But the sometimes the higher management have a strategy to understand its co. -workers .

The only thing I would suggest is be PROCIAL at work place .Everything here is professional no emotions involved . Don’t be emotionally attached and get carried away .
