Your college degree is shit!

It's hard to believe this, but your college does not matter at all.

In the past few months, I've been accessing an online assessment for hiring people for Sales internship and there were some applicants who've done MBA in Sales.

I was intimidated by the fact that I'm only a BCA Graduate and I was accessing the answers of MBA guys.

But it was another way around. Their assessment was shit. They don't even know the difference between a Prospect and a Lead.

I felt so furious that the parents of these people spent so much money on their education, and this is the result they get.

You cannot get anything done if you rely on your education. Practical knowledge is more important than Theoretical.

I am so glad that my parents did not force me into Engineering or MBA.

I've seen so many people who have not done any fancy college degree and are doing so well in life.

The best example in front of me is Mohit. He's doing his 7th year of engineering but he doesn't care about that anymore. He's the best at Marketing and he's doing that. No regrets.

Another insane example is Gaurav. He was never interested in college education since he is a great Cricketer. He was only enrolled in the college because we live in India and it's a formality.

The thing he was great at is Cricket and he did his best at that. He's now playing for a club in the UK and doing well in life.

What do you think got him an opportunity? Studying outdated programming languages in the college? Or practicing his game every single day?

Recently, Google, IBM, Apple, EY, and more announced that they are done looking for people with a fancy college degree. Here is the proof - http://www.bgr.in/news/google-ibm-apple-ey-and-more-dont-care-about-a-college-degree-and-can-hire-you-without-one/

Still, need more facts to believe this? I was never in the top 10 or top 20 students in my college. And I'm happy that I wasn't.

A few of these top 10 - top 20 people have come to me in the past year asking if I have a job at my startup or someone I know has an opening in theirs.

A couple of these guys even told me that they're not happy at their job.

Well, what did being at the top in the college get them? No decent job. No happiness. No satisfaction.

I've always been inclined towards Marketing and I've been doing that since 11th - 12th.

I've never done a course, not I have a degree in Marketing. Still, I'm making money now.

You should also not care about what you're studying right now.

You want to do well in sports, then what the fuck are you doing studying engineering?

You are good at design, then why the fuck are you doing MBA?

Guys, just do whatever you want to do and you're best at.

You don't have to be information smart. Every single thing that someone knows and you don't, can be known by a few taps on your smartphone.

The age of being information smart is long gone. You don't need to know everything, you need to know everything that matters.

Recently, a lot of people are asking me what to do in life? Is digital marketing easy to get into? I'm a good designer, but how can I earn money?

All I want to say is that keep doing things that you love and you'll eventually figure out how to make money out of it.

You just need to be aware of the fact that it's fucking 2018, people are earning money by just posting a photo on their Instagram.

It's not hard, you just have to figure out the best way to do it for yourself.

Stop educating yourself in the field that you don't love.

Stop doing that job which you were forced into.

Stop doing shit you hate.

Start getting knowledge which is going to help you do the thing you love more efficiently.

Start doing things you love.

And stop looking for results right away. It takes time. Have patience. And have consistency.

You have a lot more time than you think.
