Importance of a Health Check

Polly was in for a vaccination with Dr Zach when we found a defect in one of her teeth. You can notice redness and the gum pulling back from the tooth (gingivitis and pain). It doesn’t look like much though until you see the x-ray and realise her tooth is dissolving!
Polly had a case of tooth resorption. A painful condition that weakens the tooth. Once it occurs it is irreversible, and the tooth needs to be extracted to stop the pain, and prevent disease in other teeth.
Dental disease is just one thing we check at every single annual health check, but if you are worried about dental disease in your pet, come and see us for a free dental check.
