I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video on Youtube over the years to recharge my soul for just a few minutes. This is an excellent shot-for-shot analysis of Prince’s absolutely brilliant display of the dominance of his instrument and why he deserves the rare title of “guitar god” (among many others). The word “genius” is tossed around way too much to the point where it’s lost its real meaning, but Prince is firmly in the pantheon with other artistic geniuses throughout millennia, many of whom died much earlier than they should’ve. Like Bowie, we should all consider ourselves lucky we lived in a time he created magic.
