Pity Porn For Racists: The Media Wants You To Feel Sorry For Trump Supporters. Don’t.
Oliver Willis

To the people who are claiming ignorance about a percentage of Trump followers who are, in fact, racists: Wake Up. I guess the white supremacist groups, or, the fact that David Duke supports Trump isn’t enough of a red flag. Or, the image of the white woman in Chicago last night with her right arm raised in a “Heil Hitler” salute. Also, Trump condones violence at his rallies. To say that he doesn’t is bullshit. He likes to play dumb and not take responsibilty for his words that encourage his supporters to “rough up” or, “punch in the nose” any anti-Trump protesters. When asked about it at the most recent debate, Trump didn’t answer the question, but stated that his followers are “passionate”. Again, that’s bullshit. Debate moderators and reporters need to start calling him out and holding him responsible for the words that come out of his mouth.

I am not a fan of Ted Cruz (::shudders::), but he had a valid point last night: “The responsibility for that lies with protesters, who took violence into their own hands. But in any campaign, responsibility starts at the top. Any candidate is responsible for the culture of a campaign. And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discord.” (Washington Post, 3.11.16)
