Where are the best places to take the kids to eat?

I always look at taking the kids out for dinner through rose tinted glasses — I imagine us all sitting around a table eating lovely food a glass of wine in my hand, the kids all behaving impeccably, chatting and laughing while the staff chat with us and make us feel welcome. This rarely happens….. someone has a breakdown at some point because there is no pasta on the menu, or the food takes too long to arrive and instead of chatting and laughing it’s just moaning and whinging.

So, where do you go in Wantage and our local area where you know you are going to have a lovely time and everyone will be happy? I’ve lived in the town for a long time and we have our regular places that we love but I’m keen to find alternatives. Is there a pub in your village that has the best Sunday roast? Where do you go for lunch where there is a kids menu that is healthy and appealing?

Always amazing food at The Bear Hotel in Wantage

I want to find those hidden gems in our local area and share your positive experiences (no bashing of the places you don’t like, just positive vibes, we all need to play nicely). Hoping that this will be a win-win for parents and carers to find new places to go and for local businesses as they will get a positive shout out.

Each week I will concentrate on one particular topic e.g Sunday roast, after school treat, cafe, pub and ask for you to share your thoughts using the hashtag #EatingForEveryone

Let’s see if we can find some new places to go where the image through the rose tinted glasses could be a reality!
