Fragmented Heart

Dear heart,

I know you have been mourning for so long to be loved and treated the way you deserve to be treated. I’ve watched you lead a good fight even when nobody’s noticed. You’ve sacrificed your selfish ways for the interest of others. Even when you knew the costs of your decisions you did them anyway, out of love. Out of hope. Out of genuine kindness. You’ve jumped in-front of busses for many that wouldn’t even take a bullet for you. You are always so empathetic because you know what it’s like to be abandoned, abused, and isolated. You’ve felt the dark shadows of loneliness cloud your mind time and time again. Many would describe you to be the “Fixer” because you always seem to know how to get out of a painful situation no matter the odds against you. You are a survivor. You’ve suffered like all of us and feel it in your bones. The blood that pumps through you is not only yours but humanity’s. You’ve always made it your mission to be there for everyone. Pumping a limitless love that can reach anyone at anytime.

I’m writing you this letter to tell you that it’s time to rest. It’s time to come home. You have been fighting the battles of so many for so long, that I want you to realize that you’ve been the best you could be. You can’t fix everyone. You can’t change anyone. You can’t love anyone that doesn’t want to be loved. It’s not your responsibility. You’ve given people so much of you,where is your peace? Where is your love? When do you get to rest and just receive compassion?

My precious heart you’ve been crying to God & he’s ready for you to come home. Come home. Take your hands off the wheel and allow him to guide you where you need to be. You’ve been fighting long enough. I love you and I’m so happy to see the courage you’ve displayed however you don’t have to fight alone. So many people have disrespected you despite all the love you’ve given them. The hard truth is many of them were undeserving of it, but you still gave it to them. One thing i’ll leave you with before we part ways, is this:

“ No beauty shines brighter than that of a good heart”
